Cards pick up five wins on Friday

FT MYERS, Fla. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team picked up five wins against Memphis on the opening day of the Finemark/FGCU Collegiate Open Friday.

The Cardinals posted four singles victories. Sophomore David Mizrahi overcame a 6-1 first-set loss to Oscar Cutting to win 6-4, 8-0 in the next two sets. Freshman Daniel Fainblum also dropped his first set 6-4 to James Story but rallied to win 6-2, 6-0. Senior Clement Filho topped Jeremy Taylor 7-6, 6-3. Freshman Randy Wilson closed out the singles victories with a 7-5, 6-0 decision against Marshall Sullivan.

In doubles action, sophomores Juan Paredes and Marcus Sulen teamed to beat Cutting and Sydow 6-2.

UofL will take on host Florida Gulf Coast Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
