
Women's Basketball Earns Several Honors at Louies Student-Athletes Awards Show

The team earned Best Championship Performance after reaching the program's third ever Final Four.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville athletics department relished in the successes of all of its teams and student-athletes on Monday night at The Louies Student-Athletes Awards Show.
Following the winningest season in program history, women's basketball earned several honors.
Arica Carter claimed the comeback player of the year award. The starting point guard, after missing the 2016-17 campaign due to an injury, helped Louisville to its third Final Four. Carter was named to the Lexington Region All-Tournament Team after averaging 7.3 points and 4.0 assists, while shooting better than 50 percent from 3-pt range. She finished the year with 151 assists, fourth most in the ACC.
Myisha Hines-Allen was named Ed Kallay Senior of the Year, while Asia Durr was named Junior of the Year. The duo combined for 3,771 points during their career, making them one of the most prolific one-two punches in program history.
Both were named All-ACC First Team, while Durr was named ACC Player of the Year and Hines-Allen was named ACC Tournament Most Valuable Player.
The highlight of the night was when the team earned Best Championship Performance by a team for their 76-43 win over Oregon State that earned them the program's third ever trip to the Final Four.
