Park Wynn reaches qualify draw finals
The University of Louisville's Parker Wynn advanced to the final qualifying round of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-America Championship Tuesday at Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Â
Wynn, a sophomore from North Richland Hills, Texas defeated Marquette's Brett Meyers 6-0, 4-6, 6-3 in his second round match before falling 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 to Georgia Tech's Carlos Divar in the qualifying finals.
Â
Junior Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff (Capbreton, France) lost his second round match to California's J.T. Nishimura 4-6, 6-1, 6-1.
Â
"Chris played a good first set but could not sustain it the rest of the match," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "Parker really had his chances to qualify for the main draw. He is starting to play with his instincts more and earning a lot of points at the net. He will get his A game shortly and that will translate to big wins. Playing a college 'Grand Slam' type of event like this is a great experience for both these guys."
