Juniors George Hedley and Federico Gomez upset Vanderbilt's 16th ranked duo to win the tourament title
The University of Louisville's George Hedley and Federico Gomez won the Vanderbilt Commodore Scramble doubles title Sunday morning at Vanderbilt's Currey Tennis Center. Â

"I'm really proud of how the guys performed in doubles this weekend," said UofL assistant coach Jakob Gustafsson. "Fredrik did a great job of holding his own and for Fede and George to get a nationally ranked win in their first tournament together could be the sign of something special."

Playing in the doubles finals, the Louisville tandem of juniors outlasted Vanderbilt's 16th ranked duo of Billy Rowe and Lachlan McPhee 7-6(3) to earn the tournament title. The victory capped a 4-0 run on the weekend.

In other doubles action, sophomore Fredrik Moe teamed with Vanderbilt's Adam Sraberg to beat Lipscomb's Pedro Uribe and David Skrabut 6-2,

In singles, Hedley defeated LSU's Gabor Csonka 7-5 and picked up the win after his opponent retired in the second set. Moe lost to Lipscomb's David Skrabut 6-2 in the first set, but rallied to take the next to sets 6-2, 6-1.
