Clement Filho will join the Cardinals in the fall
University of Louisville men's tennis coach Rex Ecarma has announced that Clement Filho has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Cardinals. He will be a freshman in the fall of 2016.
"We are excited to add Clement Filho to our tennis team," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "He is a very talented player and will impact our line-up when he arrives. His dad, Thierry, has been so supportive of his tennis career and I am happy to welcome the Filho family to the Cardinal tennis family."
Filho, who hails from Paris, France, brings an impressive juniors resume to Louisville, some of high highlights include winning the 2016 Les Mureaux Tournament, advancing to the doubles round of 16 and singles round of 32 in the 2015 France F23 Futures tournament while recording wins over several highly-ranked players.
"Clement trains very hard and has a nice technical game," said Ecarma. "France is loaded with good tennis players and he plays in one of the most competitive areas in France so he will be 'match tough' when he arrives. He is excited about Louisville and the ACC Conference and feels he can contribute right away. He joins two other French players on the team - Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff and signee Nicolas Rouanet)."
