Tennis Bows Out of ACCs with Loss to NC State

No. 15 seeded Cardinals fall 3-0 to No. 10 NC State
The University of Louisville women's tennis team bowed out of the ACC Tennis Championship with a 4-0 loss to NC State Wednesday afternoon in Cary, N.C.

The No. 15-seeded Cardinals took the first doubles match of the day, as NC State's Amanda Rebol and Claudia Wiktorin fell 6-4 to Olivia Boesing and Jessie Paul. But the Pack pushed back when Bianca Moldovan and Joanna Nalborska followed with a 6-3 victory over Elle Stokes and Abbie Pahz at No. 2 doubles.  The Cardinal duo of Sena Suswam and Ariana Rodriguez held a two-point lead over Martina Frantova and Tayla Stenta but could not hold off the Wolfpack partners, who edged their way to victory to take No. 1 doubles 7-6 (7-3) and clinching the doubles point for the Pack.Â

In singles, NC State won at No. 2 when Joanna Nalborska beat Ariana Rodriguez 6-0, 6-0. Elle Stokes fell 6-3, 6-0 to Amanda Rebol at No. 5 and the match clincher came when Bianca Moldovan beat Sena Suswam 6-2, 6-2. The rest of the matches went unfinished.

The Cards conclude their season at 8-18. NC State moves to 15-10 and advances to play Syracuse on Thursday.
