
Hines-Allen Earns AP All-America Honors

Myisha Hines-Allen earned Associated Press All-America honorable mention accolades.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville forward Myisha Hines-Allen has been named an Associated Press honorable mention All-American, it was announced Monday afternoon.
Hines-Allen, the Atlantic Coast Conference's Blue Ribbon Player of the Year, recently was named to the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association All-Region I team and is a finalist for the prestigious Wade Trophy, awarded to the nation's most outstanding NCAA Division I women's basketball player.
The sophomore paced the No. 8 Cardinals (26-8) and ranked third in the ACC in scoring (17.6) and rebounding (8.4). She also connected on a team-best 54.7 percent of her shots, third in the league, and ranked in the top 10 in three other categories: seventh in free throw percentage (80.0), second in defensive rebounds (5.4), and tied for seventh in offensive rebounds (3.0).
The Montclair, N.J., native has pushed her way into the school's record books this year. Her 581 points are the ninth most in a season in program history and her 246 field goals are fifth most in a single season. Her 277 rebounds are ninth most in a season, while her average is the best since Monique Reid averaged 9.2 from 2009-10.
A three-time ACC Player of the Week, Hines-Allen was voted to the all-ACC first team by the Blue Ribbon Panel and the league's coaches. She also earned ACC All-Tournament first team accolades and secured All-America honors from College Sports Madness (first team) and espnW (third team).
