Men's Tennis Wraps Up Play at Purdue Fall Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team concluded play at the Purdue Fall Invitational Sunday afternoon.

"At the end of this weekend these freshmen have learned a lot and now have better knowledge of college tennis and what level of tennis is needed to win," said UofL assistant coach Jakob Gustafsson. "I don't think anyone has been satisfied with their results yet and the next few weeks of practice will be very important for us."

Playing in the Flight 'A' singles semifinals, freshman Brandon Lancaster suffered his first loss of the tournament when he fell 7-5, 6-2 to Michal Kiamick of Southern Illinois. In the 'A' consolation draw, freshman George Hedley fell 6-1, 1-6, 10-4 to Eastern Kentucky's Ramon van Flymen and fellow rookie Christian Haushammer lost 6-4, 6-2 to Dayton's Zach Berry.

Freshman Brian Tsao defeated IUPUI's David Beasley 6-4, 6-4 in the Flight 'B' consolation draw.
