Sean Donohue and Courtney Lock register first round singles wins in pre-qualifying draw
TULSA, Okla. – The University of Louisville's Sean Donohue and Courtney Lock each picked up a singles win in the pre-qualifying draw on day one of the ITA All-American Championship Sunday.
"We are undefeated after the first day of the biggest tournament of the fall and that definitely feels good" said UofL assistant coach Jakob Gustafsson. "Now, with the first round jitters being out of the way, we can focus on tomorrow and playing better and better. I'm excited for tomorrow."
Donohue, a junior from Louisville, Ky., rebounded from a 6-4 first set loss to beat Michael Sosnowski of Oral Roberts 6-4, 6-3 in his first round match while Lock, a sophomore from Harare, Zimbabwe defeated Wichita State's Vitor Mendes 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 to move to the round of 128.
Prequalifying singles play will continue Sunday.
