Donohue and Lock suffer second round losses
TULSA, Okla. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team lost a pair of singles matches in the second round of the pre-qualifying draw of the ITA All-American Championship Sunday morning.
"It is unfortunate that Sean and Courtney fell out of singles today," said UofL assistant coach Jakob Gustafsson. "They belong at this tournament and we need to execute our tennis better to prove it. Valuable lessons were learned and I trust that our players for tomorrow can learn from this as well."
Junior Sean Donohue (Louisville, Ky.) lost his first set to Mississippi State's Vaughn Hunter, but came back to take the second 7-6(5) before falling 6-2 in the third. Sophomore Courtney Lock (Harare, Zimbabwe) fell 6-4, 6-3 to Valparaiso's Dave Bacalla.
Seniors and Alex Gornet and Jeffrey Brown will begin singles and doubles play in the qualifying draw Monday.
