Men's Tennis Concludes Singles Play at ITA All-American Championship

Alex Gornet and Jeffrey Brown fall in singles

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Louisville completed singles play at the ITA All-American Championship Monday afternoon.

In first round action, senior Jeffrey Brown (Mandeville, La.) fell 6-4, 6-2 to Cal Poly's Ben Donovan who is ranked No. 122 in the nation in singles. Brown then fell 6-1, 7-6(3) to Wake Forest's Skandar Manouri in the consolation draw.

In his first round match, senior Alex Gornet (Louisville, Ky.) rebounded from a 7-6 (10) first set loss to beat No. 92 Justin Butsch of LSU 6-2 in the second set, but Butsch prevailed 6-3 in the deciding third set. Gornet fell 6-1, 6-4 to Oklahoma State's Julian Cash in the consolation draw.

Junior Sean Donohue and sophomore Courtney Lock will compete in the qualifying double draw Tuesday.
