
Men's Tennis Completes Day One of Duke's James Bonk Invite

Sean Donohue posts a singles win in fall opener
CARY, N.C. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team completed two round of doubles and one round of singles at Duke's James Bonk Invite Friday at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
"After day one here we have already seen where we need to be and we are not there yet," said UofL assistant coach Jakob Gustafsson. "The weekend isn't over yet and I'm interested to see how well we bounce back tomorrow."
The tournament opened with two rounds of doubles play. Sophomore Courtney Lock and Santiago Salazar fell 8-3 to Duke's Jason Lapidus and Andrew DeJoy to move to the consolation draw where they received a bye. The duo of senior Alex Gornet and junior Sean Donohue lost an 8-4 decision to NC State's Simon Norenius and fell 8-4 to No. 35 Marko Krickovic and Conner Huertas del Pino of Auburn.
In singles action, junior transfer Sean Donohue posted his first win at Louisville with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Radford's Samuel Taylor in the Black Division. Gornet fell 6-2, 6-3 to Auburn's Marko Krickovic in the Blue Division. In the White Division, Salazar lost to VCU's Arvid Noren 6-2, 6-1 and Lock fell 6-2, 6-0 to Duke's Adrian Chamdani.
The tournament will continue Saturday with doubles starting at 9 a.m.
