Myisha Hines-Allen averaged a double-double in leading Louisville to a 3-0 week.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Myisha Hines-Allen has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
The sophomore, who averaged 18.3 points on 75.8 percent shooting (25-of-33) and 10.7 rebounds and helped lead the Cardinals (7-5) to three-consecutive victories, was chosen by the ACC's Blue Ribbon Panel – comprised of the league's media and sports information directors.
Hines-Allen recorded two double-doubles in the week, the first coming against Dartmouth – a 13-point, 10-rebound effort on Dec. 15. She shot 6-of-7 from the field, while collecting a career-best four steals in just 20 minutes of play.
The performance came on the heels of a double-double against IUPUI, making Hines-Allen the first player in school history to produce back-to-back double-doubles since Asia Taylor achieved that feat against LSU (Nov. 14) and Oklahoma (Nov. 17) in 2013.
The Montclair, N.J., native followed it with 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting and eight rebounds against Tennessee Tech. Hines-Allen capped the week with 22 points and a career-best 14 boards at College of Charleston. Her 10-for-11 (.909) shooting performance versus the Cougars is tied for sixth-best nationally for a single-game field goal percentage this season.
Through 11 games, Hines-Allen is pacing the Cardinals in scoring (15.4), field goal percentage (.537), and rebounding (8.3).
At the conference level, she ranks seventh in the league in scoring, third in rebounding, 11th in field goal percentage, is tied for seventh in offensive rebounds per game (3.0), and is second in defensive rebounds per game (5.3). Nationally, she is 26th in total field goals (80).
It is Hines-Allen's second career weekly honor from the conference after being named the league's freshman of the week on Dec. 1, 2014.
Louisville returns to action on Dec. 28, when it plays host to UT Martin at the KFC Yum! Center.
