
Louisville Concludes Fall with Trio of Races at Rivanna Romp

Cardinals finish fourth in varsity eight event, eighth in varsity four competition
EARLYSVILLE, Va. - The University of Louisville rowing team closed its fall schedule on Sunday with a trio of races at the University of Virginia's Rivanna Romp, highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the varsity eight event.
The Cardinals were led by their varsity eight "A" boat, which finished with a fourth-place time of 13:31.7 across the 4,000-meter course at the Rivanna Reservoir. The host Cavaliers won the varsity eight race as their "A" crew had a first-place time of 13:11.1. Louisville's "C" boat finished seventh in the field of 21 crews with a time of 13:49.2, while the Cardinals' "B" boat was 13th in with a time of 14:16.3.
Louisville had five boats in the varsity four event with the "D" crew leading the way for an eight-place finish in the field of 26 with a time of 15:17.5, while Virginia's "A" boat paced the way at 14:39.8. The Cardinals' "B" boat was 10th at 15:28.4 and was followed by the "C" crew in 11th with a time of 15:29.3, the "A" boat in 13th at 15:33.7 and the "E" boat in 18th in a time of 15:56.4.
In the novice eight event, Louisville's freshman boat was fourth in the field of five crews with a time of 15:46.6. Navy paced the way in the novice eight race with a time of 14:50.1.
Up next, Louisville will conclude the fall semester with limited time on the water before conducting its annual winter training trip in December. The spring racing season will begin on March 12-13 with the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational in Tennessee.
