
Two Louisville Doubles Teams Reach Finals of Louisville Winter Invitational

Brandon Lancaster/Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff and George Hedley/Christian Haushammer reach their respective doubles finals
LOUISVILLE, Ky. –  The University of Louisville's doubles teams of Brandon Lancaster and Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff and George Hedley and Christian Haushammer each advanced to the finals of their respective divisions on the final day of the Louisville Winter Invitational Sunday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

"We always want to win championships in each division, that is why we host the Louisville Invitational Tournament and play tournaments," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. Â "Overall the results this year were significantly better than those of last year. This was only the second or third tournament for these freshmen and we were in contention for the title in all four divisions. I have a plan to strengthen their mentality and they understand the importance of it."

Playing in the semifinals of the 'A' division, the duo of Lancaster and Morin-Kougoucheff defeated Middle Tennessee's Gian Issa and Miguel Negre Fernandez 8-3 to advance to the finals where they fell 8-4 to Kentucky's Nils Ellefsen and Kevin Lai.

Hedley and Haushammer teamed to beat SIU-Edwardsville's Jack Desse and Matthew Hutchinson 8-2 in the 'B' semifinals to reach the finals where the lost 8-3 to Kentucky's Austin Hussey and Jake Stefanik.

In the 'Red' division, Brian Tsao and Michael Quang combined for an 8-3 win over Middle Tennessee State's Michael Apple and Jacob Pugh. Â
