Brown and Gornet Lose First Round Doubles Match in ITA All-American Main Draw

Seniors Jeffrey Brown and Alex Gornet fall in first round

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Louisville's Jeffrey Brown fell in the first round of the ITA All-American Doubles Main Draw Thursday evening.

"One break decided today's match. It didn't go our way," said UofL assistant coach Jakob Gustafsson. "I strongly believe we can make a run in the consolation draw. We will work on a few details tomorrow morning and come back hungry for match time"

Seniors Jeffrey Brown and Alex Gornet opened their main draw doubles play against Stanford's 32^nd-ranked Tom Fawcett and Maciek Romanowicz. The teams battled, but Stanford's duo prevailed 7-6(3), 7-5.

Brown and Gornet will face the tournament's No. 3 seed, Florida State's Benjamin Lock and Marco Nunez in the consolation draw Friday.
