Brown and Gornet Reach Consolation Semifinals of ITA All-American Championship

Brown and Gornet win in doubles consolation quarterfinals

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Louisville's Jeffrey Brown and Alex Gornet have advanced to the semifinals of the doubles consolation draw of the ITA All-American Championship Saturday afternoon.

"Another solid performance today," said UofL assistant coach Jakob Gustafsson. "Small details decide the matches at this level and so far we have been able to play disciplined enough to get our wins. We're excited about more good tennis tomorrow in the semifinal."

Seniors Brown and Gornet, ranked No. 35 in the ITA preseason doubles picked up their second straight win in the consolation bracket with a 6-4, 6-2 decision over Tulsa's Carlos Bautista and Juan Matias Gonzalez in the quarterfinals. They will face Virginia Tech's Bjerrehus/ Joao Monteiro in the semifinals Sunday morning.
