Track and Field Hands Out Awards at Banquet

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville track and field teams held their annual awards banquet on Monday, staging the event in front alumni, donors, and student-athletes and their family members inside the Galt House.
In addition to watching videos that highlight the season up to the final BIG EAST Outdoor Championships and recap the careers of nine student-athletes, former letterwinner ZeNai Savage served as a guest speaker and talked about the growth of the track and field program since her time as a student-athlete.

After head coach Ron Mann handed each senior his or her framed jersey, awards were presented.
Sam Bombaugh (male) and Khadija Abdullah (female) and Amashi Kendall (female) headlined the honors, earning the title of outstanding athlete of the year. Ernest Kibet (male) and Brittany Owens (female) were presented freshman of the year accolades, Calvin Arsenault (male) and Margret Harris (female) received the coaches' award, and Bombaugh (male) and Hannah Baker (female) were recipients of the academic award.
