
Track and Field's Abdullah Captures All-America Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville track and field's Khadija Abdullah finish the team's stay at the NCAA Indoor Championships with her second career All-America honor on Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark.
In her final season, Abdullah placed 11th in the shot put on a throw of 16.46m/54-0 for USTFCCCA second-team honors. Her first and third throws were both fouls.
Abdullah, who wrapped up a solid career, also won a title at the BIG EAST Championships this season, breaking the school record in the shot put with a winning toss of 17.06m/55-11.75. Abdullah previously earned indoor All-America honors in 2011 after taking 20th in the shot put. A two-time outdoor All-American, she earned the distinction in 2011 and 2012 in the shot put. At the conference level, she won two BIG EAST outdoor titles and three indoor titles.
Louisville starts its outdoor season March 14-16 at the Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The event, hosted by Coastal Carolina University and the City of Myrtle Beach, will take place at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
