Freshman midfielder Andrew Brody scored three goals with eight assists in 2013.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville midfielder Andrew Brody was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Freshman XI First Team on Monday.
Brody (Orlando, Fla.) had an impressive collegiate debut with the Cardinals scoring three goals and adding eight assists while starting all 20 games in the midfield. A Second Team All-American Athletic Conference selection and a Second Team All-Midwest Region honoree from the NSCAA, Brody twice this season was credited with two assists in a match (against Virginia and UConn), while on Sept. 30, he was selected as the American Conference Rookie of the Week after scoring a goal and adding an assist in Louisville's win over Temple.
Making its seventh straight NCAA Championship appearance, No. 17 Louisville ended its season with a 1-0 double-overtime loss at No. 11 Michigan State in the second round. The Cardinals (11-5-4) won the inaugural American Athletic Conference regular season championship with a 5-1-2 league mark. Selected as a host for the first round of the NCAA Championship, Louisville advanced past Denver with a 3-2 shootout win on Nov. 21 before the season-ending loss to the Spartans.
