No. 3/4 Cardinals Travel to Western Kentucky

No. 3/4 Louisville women will take on Western Kentucky on Wednesday, Nov. 27 for an 8:00 p.m. ET in E. A. Diddle Arena. The game will be televised live on ESPN3.
Asia Taylor scored six points in overtime along with making an assist that helped Louisville pull away for a 69-59 victory over Florida State on Sunday. Shoni Schimmel added a 3-pointer en route to 21 points as the Cardinals outscored the Seminoles 15-5 in the extra session.
Schimmel leads five Cardinals averaging double figures with 13.0 points per game. Taylor and Antonita Slaughter rank second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.5 points per game apiece. Sara Hammond ranks fourth on the team in scoring with 10.8 points per game and senior Tia Gibbs is averaging 10.6 points per game. Hammond leads the team on the boards with 7.5 rebounds per game while Taylor is second with 7.2 boards per game.
Western Kentucky enters the game with an overall record of 4-1. Alexis Govan and Chastity Gooch combined to score 36 points and led WKU to a 74-64 win over Northern Kentucky on Saturday. Gooch had 20 points and 16 rebounds while Govan added 16 points to help WKU to its third straight win of the season.
Govan leads the team in scoring with 20.1 points per game. Gooch leads the team in rebounding with 11.3 boards per game. She also ranks second on the team in scoring with 15.7 points per game. Bianca McGee ranks third on the team in scoring with 12.2 points per game.
Head coach Michelle Clark-Heard is in her second season at the helm of the Hilltoppers. Last season she guided the Hilltoppers to a 22-11 record and owns a 26-12 overall record at WKU. She owns a career record of 50-44. Clark heard spent five seasons as an assistant coach with the Cardinals before taking over at Western Kentucky.
The game will be carried live on the Cards Radio with Matt Andrews and Adrienne Johnson, carried locally on WKRD 790 AM.
