Grieshaber Earns BIG EAST Cross Country Honor

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville women's cross country's Kim Grieshaber was named the BIG EAST Female Cross Country Athlete of the Week, conference officials announced Wednesday.
A redshirt senior, Grieshaber won the women's individual title at University of Evansville's Mid-America Opener on Sept. 4 and helped the Cardinals capture the women's team title. Behind a solid 14:20 in the 4K, she outpaced her closest competition by 13 seconds and pulled away from the pack with a mile to go in the race.
The award is the first of Grieshaber's career.
The Cardinals have a break in action this weekend and return to competition on Sept. 18, with the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, Md. The men's race, the first event of the day, is slated to begin at 10:30 a.m.
