Louisville, Ky. - Good day Cardinal Country! We hope everyone had a splendid Thanksgiving and the bros look forward to top off the holiday with a victory over Ohio State in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
Life is good right now. It's hard to complain with the team's success and incredible love and support from our friends, families, and fans. This year, the bros are truly thankful for everyone who has been with us on this journey. It is clear none of this would have happened without your support. We assure our fans, we are doing everything in our power to win the championship for our beloved Cardinal family.
Last week's win was an amazing experience. What a crowd! 5300 hundred fans is support at its finest. The energy on the pitch was more than I've ever known. The noise with each play sent shivers down my spine. Whether it was the crowd's applaud after a hard tackle, the booing after a questionable call, or the loud uproar after we scored made the game electric. It was a heck of a match and when Colin Rolfe put us on top midway through the second half, I couldn't hear myself think. And that third goal... wow. I almost started to weep on all fours from the beauty and unselfishness of the play. It was a great win and another reason why we have the greatest fans in the land.
The team is pleased with this week's preparation and training sessions. Coach Lolla wisely kept the team together in town over the Thanksgiving Holiday to continue with our winning routine. Meals were provided for, and we were fortunate to have a delicious turkey dinner on the fifth floor of Papa John's Stadium. Being Thanksgiving, Charlie Campbell saw it fit for everyone in the room to stand and share a few reasons of thanks. It was a special moment for the team because this year the bros spent Thanksgiving together because of our success. Much of this year's success comes from the unity amongst this team. Even though Papa John's Stadium isn't Grandma's house, this year's turkey dinner was still shared with family.
The match against Ohio State is going to be a battle. We have been training hard, watching film, and more than ready to put on a show. Word on the street is the attendance for this match is going to be more than last week's record crowd against College of Charleston. Unreal. What a journey. We look forward to seeing you out there.
One last thing, if your happen to have a close interaction with one of the players, don't be frightened. Charlie Campbell thought of another brilliant incentive for when we win. Many of us have entered the Mustache Challenge. The first place winner is the bro with the best mustache. Players to watch for: Luis Pacheco, J.T. Murray, Charlie Campbell, Chase Rodgers...ha ha, and myself. Luis really can bring the Mexican out, but Chase... Chase just has something few of us have ever seen! DO WORK CARDS!
