LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Reaching the NCAA Cross Country Championships for the fourth time in the last five seasons, the University of Louisville men's cross country team finished 28th at the national championships on a windy Monday afternoon at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course located at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Ind.
Fifth-year senior Michael Eaton navigated the 10,000-meter course in 30:51, taking 58th - first on the team - out of the 246-man field. Only 10 places behind was Matt Hughes, crossing the finish line 68th with a time of 30:57.
Eaton completes his cross country career with four all-region honors and three trips to the national championships. He also earned three all-BIG EAST honors (top-10 placewinners at BIG EAST Cross Country Championships), registering his best finish at the league event this season with a runner-up finish.
