
Edginton and Rolfe Earn More All-American Honors

Louisville, Ky. - Senior defender Phil Edginton and sophomore forward Colin Rolfe were named College Soccer News All-Americans. Edginton was named a second team All-American while Rolfe earned third team honors.
Edginton earned second team All-American honors for the second time this season. He was named a second team NSCAA All-American last week. Edginton was named BIG EAST Co-Defensive Player of the Year. He was also a unanimous selection to the 2009 All-BIG EAST First Team. Edginton and the Cardinal defense have posted 13 shutouts through 20 games and allowed only 12 goals. Offensively, Edginton has six points on two goals and two assists. Named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week three times (Sept. 21, Oct. 12 & Oct. 26), Edginton was also a two-time weekly honor roll selection (Sept. 14 & Oct. 5). He was recently named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Year.
Rolfe earns his second All-American honors. Rolfe became the first Cardinal to earn NSCAA first team All-American honors last week. Rolfe was a semifinalist for the prestigious Hermann Trophy Award after his stellar sophomore campaign. Rolfe finished the year leading the team in scoring with 10 goals and two assists for 22 points. The sophomore also led the team with four game-winning goals. He was a unanimous first team All-BIG EAST selection. He was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals in the Cards' 4-0 win over Indiana. He was also named to the Soccer America Team of the Week. He was recently named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Year.
