
Louisville Rowing Earns Novice 8+ Win Over Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Louisville rowing team earned a Novice 8+ win over host Tennessee while dropping Varsity 8+ and 2nd Varsity 8+ races to the Lady Vols Saturday morning on Lake Loudoun.
In the Novice 8+ race, the Cards covered the 2,000-meter course in a time of 6 minutes, 59.7 seconds, more than 16 seconds ahead of the Lady Vols, who finished with a time of 7:16.2.
The 19th-ranked Louisville Varsity 8+ crew was narrowly beaten by Tennessee's No. 7 ranked V8+ boat on Saturday. UT covered the course in a time of 6:17.22, less than four seconds in front of the Cards with a time of 6:20.79.
In the 2nd Varsity 8+ race, the Lady Vols' `A' crew finished with a time of 6:32.58, followed by their `B' crew in second with a time of 6:42.58 and Louisville was third with a time of 6:44.44.
Up next, the Cards will travel to San Diego, Calif., for the San Diego Crew Classic on April 5-6 at Crown Point Shores Park.
