
Women's Basketball Hosts Villanova For Senior Day

Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's basketball team will host Villanova on Monday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m. in Freedom Hall. Monday's game will be senior night for Cardinal seniors Patrika Barlow and Courtney Simmons. The game will be broadcast live on WKRD 790 AM or 101.7 FM with Jim Kelch and Adrienne Johnson calling the action.
Junior Angel McCoughtry leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 23.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Candyce Bingham is second on the team in scoring and rebounding with 14.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. Senior point guard Patrika Barlow leads the team and the league in assists with 6.9 per game.
Villanova enters the game with an overall record of 15-13 and a BIG EAST record of 5-10. Forward Laura Kurz leads the Wildcats in scoring and rebounding with 14.9 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Stacie Whitman is second in scoring and rebounding with 14.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Lisa Karcic rounds out the top Wildcat scorers with 12.1 points per game.
Today's game will be just the third meeting between the two teams. Louisville leads the series 2-0 over Villanova. Louisville won the first meeting in Freedom Hall 63-57. The Cardinals escaped with a 64-59 win in Philadelphia last season.
