
Women's Basketball Earns NCAA Tournament Bid

Louisville, Ky. - The No. 19/21 Louisville women's basketball team earned their fourth consecutive and 12th overall bid to the 2008 NCAA Tournament. It is the first time in school history that the Cardinals have made four consecutive appearances. Louisville also earns their highest seed at No. 4 in school history, topping last season's sixth seed.
The Cardinals finished the regular season tied for fifth in the BIG EAST Conference, which earned a record eight bids for the second straight season. Louisville made an impressive run in the BIG EAST Tournament last week, knocking off the No. 10 seed St. John's, the No. 2 seed Rutgers and the No. 3 seed West Virginia before falling to top-ranked Connecticut in the final.
Louisville is the No. 4 seed in the New Orleans Region. The Cards will face the 13th seeded Miami (Ohio) on Sunday, March 23 in Bridgeport, Conn. for first round action at 2:30 p.m.
