Louisville Junior Angel McCoughtry
"We started out slow and then picked it up the first half. In the second half we just had too many mental breakdowns at crucial times."
(On her slow start)
"I just had to let the game come to me and not force it. I just let everybody else have touches."
Louisville Head Coach Jeff Walz
"We had a few breakdowns at crucial times. We let Meg Bulger pop off a simple down screen and make a three. We came down the floor and lose Cole in transition and she hits a three. We did things that if you want to be a good basketball team, you just can't do on the road against a team like West Virginia. Then we had a turnover there at the end of the half and then we just quit playing for some reason. Things like that, we have to work on if we are going to be able to win some big basketball games."
(On Candyce Bingham's second half)
"I don't think they did anything in particular to her. Just like with Angel we've done a really good job of trying to understand to share the basketball and not force things. In the first half they were really focusing on Angel and I thought she made some great passes and got her teammates open. Candyce was open to score in the first half. Then in the second half they made sure they knew where Candyce was. She ends up with five assists in the game. We are doing a much better job of sharing the basketball and getting open shots for our teammates. Unfortunately, we have to start to knock down some of those shots."
(On Sanni) "She plays extremely hard. I have a great respect for her game. She does a good job of getting into the paint and staying in there. She does a really good job of moving side to side so she never gets a three second call. She just plays extremely hard."
