
Women's Basketball Host Providence Tuesday Evening

Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's basketball team will host Providence on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 7:00 p.m. in Freedom Hall. The game will be broadcast live on WKRD 790 AM or 101.7 FM with Jim Kelch and Adrienne Johnson calling the action.
Junior Angel McCoughtry leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 23.5 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Candyce Bingham is second on the team in scoring and rebounding with 14.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Senior point guard Patrika Barlow leads the team and the league in assists with 7.1 per game.
Providence enters the game with an overall record of 12-14 and a 2-11 record in league play. Sophomore guard Kendria Holmes leads the Friars in scoring with 11.7 points per game. Freshman forward Mi-Khida Hankins is the second leading scorer with 10.6 points per game. Junior Shantee Darrian lead the team on the boards with 8.0 rebounds per game.
The game will be just the third meeting between the two teams. The series is tied at 1-1 with each team winning on their home courts. The last time the two teams met in Freedom Hall the Cardinals defeated the Friars 75-64. Last season in Providence, the Friars defeated the Cardinals 106-94 in double overtime.
