
Women's Basketball to Face St. John's

Queens, NY - The University of Louisville women's basketball team will play St. John's Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 7:00 p.m. in Carnesecca Arena. The game will be broadcast live on WKRD 790 AM or 101.7 FM with Jim Kelch and Adrienne Johnson calling the action.
Junior Angel McCoughtry leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 24.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. Candyce Bingham is second on the team in scoring and rebounding with 13.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Senior point guard Patrika Barlow leads the team and the league in assists with 6.9 per game.
St. John's enters the game with an overall record of 12-11 and a 3-7 record in league play. St. John's is led in scoring by Monique McLean with 14.7 points per game. Senior guard Kia Wright is second on the team in scoring with 11.9 points per game. Joy McCorvey leads the team in rebounding with 5.8 boards per game.
Today's game will be just the fourth meeting between the two teams. The Cardinals lead the series 2-1. St. John's won the first meeting on their home court during the 2006 season. Louisville defeated St. John's 91-62 in Freedom Hall during the regular season last year. The two teams faced off in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament last season and the Cardinals won 68-54.
