
Louisville Knocks Off No. 25 DePaul, 79-68

The game was tied for the seventh time at 56 with 7:25 left to play. McCoughtry hit a 3-pointer on the next possession to give the Cardinals the lead. Naughton hit two free throws for the Blue Demons to get within one. Back-to-back layups by McCoughtry put the Cardinals up 63-58 with just over six minutes remaining.
Natasha Williams scored on a putback to get the Blue Demons within three at the 5:25 mark. McCoughtry knocked down two free throws to push the lead back to five but Naughton's jumper at 4:47 pulled DePaul within three.
Louisville then went on a 7-0 run to take a 72-62 lead with 2:11 remaining. The Cardinals connected on 7 of 10 from the line to keep the Blue Demons at bay.
Louisville finished the game shooting 48.3 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from behind the arc. DePaul shot 41.8 percent from the field and just 15 percent from behind the arc. The Cardinals held a slight 39-38 rebounding edge over the Blue Demons.
Louisville will be back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 13 as they travel to St. John's for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff.
