Louisville vs. Central Michigan

Louisville Head Coach Jeff Walz
"Angel (McCoughtry) does so much more for us than having to score all of the time. We have worked very hard on our recruiting. We have tried to get some players that can come in here and replace her but you're not going to find one player that can do everything that Angel (McCoughtry) does. It might take two or three players to equal what she does. I was really pleased tonight with how the rest of the team played. I think that it actually gives us a lot of hope as a program and as a team. It shows that we can still win games without Angel (McCoughtry) having to score 30 points."
(On the tempo of the game)
"We like to play that way, but this is really the first team that has pressed us this year. We do have a belief that when teams are trying to press us, we are going to shoot layups. Tonight, we scored a lot off of their press. That is both good and bad because I am not sure how many more teams will try to come out and press us. At the same time, if they do, we are excited about that. We are a team that really tries to press a lot ourselves so we work against it a lot. I am not sure that we can score 95 points every night in the BIG EAST but we are going to try to go out there and score as much as we can. We only forced them into 22 turnovers but we scored 28 points off of those 22 turnovers. I really like how efficient we were when we did make them turn the ball over."
(On Brandie Radde and Becky Burke's shooting performance)
"I am hoping that it continues. I am hoping that we are actually starting to believe that we can make some shots and that is what I see in practice. Hopefully, they have some confidence now and they know what they can do. If we can continue to do that and with the way that Keshia Hines played tonight it is really going to open things up so that our kids have some open shots."
Junior guard Brandie Radde
"Everybody did a great job of chipping in tonight. One of our goals before the game started was to have a lot of assists as a team. We met our goal and we did a great job of sharing the ball and everybody knocked down shots. Angel had a little bit of an off-night and we all helped pick her up."
(On her second half shooting)
"Most of my shots I have to credit my teammates, they did a great job of finding me - whether it was on the drive and kick or skip passes. I think they do a great job of finding me. I think we were all in a great rhythm of getting the ball inside out, driving and kicking and finding the open player."
(On playing in stretches with Angel out for so long)
"We definitely executed well during the stretch with Angel on the bench. I can't recall too many games where she's been out for too long - maybe in the beginning of the season when she was out with foul trouble or something. I think we're doing a much better job, the team as a whole, just getting into a rhythm and executing well."
(On winning seven straight games)
"Winning makes the holidays much nicer. We have to continue to focus. We're going to need big wins. We have one game left before we enter conference play. It's going to get tough fast and we have to continue to use every opportunity we can to try get better. Wins are always nice. We've got some good teams coming in to play. It's also been very nice to be at home. We've done a good job and we have to continue to do that."
(On scoring 95 points with Angel McCoughtry only scoring 4)
"If it's 95, you're counting on Angel to score about 30 of them. Angel's a great player."
"As a team we did a great job of executing our offense; moving the ball, working the ball, finding open players and people stepped up and knocked down shots tonight."
