Louisville Head Coach Jeff Walz
(On forcing Syracuse to turn the ball over)
"We did a nice job. We got them to turn the basketball over, but the problem was when they turned it over we would throw it out of bounds. We weren't able to really capitalize with transition basketball and that is something that we've done all year. That is a big part of our offense. So if we don't throw the ball out of bounds then we can set up our offense. We are not a great offensive team and we know that. We had some open looks and unfortunately I think we got tight and they just didn't go in. I will have to go back and watch the film and try to figure out some things. I'll take the blame for this loss."
(On Syracuse's 3-point shooting)
"They did a good job. Unfortunately I think we gave them a couple of open looks. We didn't contest it. I tried to switch up the defense once or twice and we just didn't have the right person down there. I shouldn't have tried it. It led to one or two open looks and then all of the sudden they get some confidence and start pouring the threes in from everywhere."
"They made some tough shots, there is no question about it. The ball went in for them extremely well tonight. They made some runners that I don't think the Morrow kid was meaning to shoot and threw it up there and banked it in. When things like that happen you've just got to keep fighting and keep trying to plug away. I was proud of how hard we came back. We got down by 25 and cut the thing to 15 and then there was a technical foul called and I'm not sure what happened there. It was a 15 point game and then that ended up being a costly call."
