
McCoughtry Earns BIG EAST Player of the Week Honors

Louisville, Ky. - The BIG EAST has announced that Louisville's Angel McCoughtry was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week on Monday, Jan. 28. McCoughtry earns Player of the Week honors for the second time this season and the fifth time in her career.
She finished the week averaging a double-double with 30.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. For the week, McCoughtry shot 45.7 percent (16-of-35) from the field and 92.9 percent (26-of-28) from the foul line, while averaging 4.0 steals and 2.5 assists per game.
The junior forward finished with 28 points and 14 rebounds in the Cardinals' 79-69 home win over Marquette on Jan. 23. McCoughtry also had seven steals and connected on 13-of-14 from the line. In Louisville's loss at No. 19/21 Pittsburgh on Sunday, McCoughtry finished with 33 points and nine rebounds. She shot 52.9 percent (9-of-17) from the field and also sank 13-of-14 shots from the foul line.
The Cardinals will be in action again on Wednesday, Jan. 30 as they travel to Cincinnati. The game is scheduled to tipoff at 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on WKRD with Jim Kelch and Adrienne Johnson calling the action.
