
Women's Basketball Hosts Marquette on Wednesday Night

Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's basketball team will host Marquette in Freedom Hall on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on WKRD 790 AM or 101.7 FM with Jim Kelch and Adrienne Johnson calling the action.
Junior Angel McCoughtry leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 22.8points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Candyce Bingham is second on the team in scoring and rebounding with 13.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Senior point guard Patrika Barlow leads the team and the league in assists with 7.1 per game.
Marquette enters the game with an overall record of 10-7 and a 2-2 record in the BIG EAST. The Golden Eagles are coming off of a 65-56 upset of No. 23/22 DePaul on Sunday. The Golden Eagles are led by junior Krystal Ellis, who is third in league standings averaging 19.7 points per game. Angel Robinson is second on the team with 9.3 points per game and stands at third in the league with 2.71 steals per game.
The game will be the 19th meeting between the two teams. Louisville leads the series 10-8 and holds a 5-4 edge at home against the Golden Eagles. Last season, Marquette defeated the Cardinals 65-54 in Milwaukee.
