McCoughtry Named a WBCA/Kodak All-American Finalist

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville sophomore standout Angel McCoughtry was named a WBCA/Kodak All-American finalist today. The 52 finalists, who are voted upon by WBCA-member coaches in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions, are now in the running for selection to the 10-member Kodak/WBCA All-America Team.
McCoughtry is one of nine finalist out of Region I, which consisted of BIG EAST players and one player from the Atlantic 10. She was named the BIG EAST Player of the Year last week after leading the conference in scoring, rebounding and steals. She is also a Wooden Award Finalist.
She is just the second player in BIG EAST history to average a double-double. The 6-1 sophomore averages 21.9 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. She also leads the league in steals, averaging 3.5 per game and double-doubles with 19 on the season. She ranks fourth in the nation and in scoring and fourth in the nation in steals. McCoughtry is just the second player in school history to be named a finalist. Senior Jazz Covington has also earned the honor.
