
Angel McCoughtry Named Associated Press All-American

Louisville, Ky. - University of Louisville sophomore Angel McCoughtry was named a second team All-American by the Associated Press on Tuesday afternoon. McCoughtry becomes the first Cardinal to earn a spot on the Associated Press All-America team. Jill Morton and Sara Nord both earned honorable mention honors.
McCoughtry earned BIG EAST Player of the Year honors after becoming just the second player in BIG EAST history to average a double-double. The 6-1 sophomore averages 21.5 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. She also leads the league in steals, averaging 3.5 per game and double-doubles with 19 on the season.
McCoughtry became just the third player in school history to score 1,000 career points. The sophomore scored her 1,000th career point in the Cardinals' NCAA Tournament win over BYU. She shattered the season scoring record this seasons with 754 points this season.
