Louisville, Ky. - Season tickets for the 2007-08 Louisville women's basketball campaign have been sold at a record pace. As of Thursday morning just over 5,000 season tickets had been sold, surpassing last season's record of over 3,000.
"It is a very exciting time for Louisville Women's Basketball," said head coach Jeff Walz. "The amount of support we have received from the community is outstanding. These young ladies work extremely hard and it is great for them to be able to showcase their abilities in front of our terrific fans. My goal was to surpass the 4,000 ticket mark and we are already over 5,000. I know we can continue our growth in our season ticket holders. If you haven't been to a women's game, just come once and I really believe you will want to become a season ticket holder."
The Cardinals are just one game into the home season and will host Xavier on Sunday, Dec. 9 in Freedom Hall at 2:00 p.m.
Season tickets are still available, but single game tickets will be on sale starting with Sunday's game. Individual game tickets are $5.00.
