Louisville vs. Coppin State

Louisville Head Coach Jeff Walz
"I thought that we played a very physical game today. Coppin State came out really aggressive and played extremely hard. This was a big game for them, they normally don't get a BIG EAST team, an ACC team or and SEC team come in and play at their place so they were really excited. But I really thought that we fought at times during the game and came up with some big plays enabling us to win."
"It was nice to see the support for Angel McCoughtry and Chauntise Wright. It was great to see their families who were able to attend. Chauntise played hard four us today. Angel really played her game, she had a double-double with 28 points and 12 rebounds. She really took over at times when we needed her to. Patrika Barlow did a really good job of leading this team. She has had a great first half of the season for us. She is a big part of our success and will continue to be a big part of our success."
(on being 9-2 going into Christmas)
"We are very excited about being 9-2 going into Christmas, especially with an eight game winning streak. After starting the season 1-2, I thought the kids really dug down and came to practice and worked extremely hard to correct some of the things we needed to get corrected. And as a result we were able to be very successful. We are looking forward to three and a half days off, some well deserved rest, and we'll get back together on the night of the 26th in Louisville for a light practice. We will then practice full on the 27th and play Mercer at home on the 28th."
