
McCoughtry Earns BIG EAST Player of the Week Honors

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville sophomore Angel McCoughtry earned her second BIG EAST Player of the Week honors in three weeks after helping the Cardinals to a 2-0 record last week. She led the Cardinals to a come from behind 67-62 win over Cincinnati and to a 80-51 win over Belmont on Saturday.
McCoughtry almost single-handedly propelled Louisville to a 67-62 come-from-behind win over Cincinnati on Dec. 14. In the teamâ?TMs first league game of the season, the sophomore forward got in early foul trouble and sat out the final 14:42 of the first half, having recorded only two points and three rebounds. McCoughtry then filled up the stat sheet with 23 points and 15 rebounds after the break, outscoring the entire Bearcat squad. On Sunday, McCoughtry scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the Cardinalsâ?TM 80-51 over Belmont. For the week, she averaged 19 points and 13 rebounds per game.
