Senior Forward Jazz Covington
(on the 4-0 start) "We're 4-0 so its seems like everything is going pretty good. We're playing together well on the court and we are sharing the ball. We've got to get better at communicating, that's the thing we have to get better at doing. Communication on the court and our defense need to tighten up. But so far it feels good."
"Right now in the first few games of the season, even though they're games where you are excited and ready to play, for us it is showing that we're doing good, doing a lot of good stuff. But we have more things to work on in order to get toward that championship. So when we play teams that aren't on our level, we still have to pick up our level. We have to learn how to play with the same intensity that we would play with if we were playing for a championship game."
Sophomore Forward Angel McCoughtry
"I look for my teammates to pass the ball first, then score. But just going out there and playing just comes naturally to me. Everything just happens."
Head Coach Tom Collen
"We're obviously please to be 4-0 right now. We're off to a good start. We are excited about that and we kind of knew what we were getting into today with Furman. It was going to be on us in order to try to create energy and execute in order to get better. I thought there were times when we did that and there were times when we let down. Coaches are never really satisfied with where they are at. It's pretty early in the year and to be 4-0 and outscoring your opponents by 30, that's a pretty good start."
"We're getting ready to go on a really tough road swing now. We're going to be away from Freedom Hall for three games, a huge test at UCSB, a traditional power. We're going to get a lot better looks out there. For the most part we had a lot of good looks and had good balance. We have to continue to share the basketball with each other. I'm starting to see some chemistry develop with this team that I really like. Certainly there are things we have to still work on."
"Taking care of the basketball in the first half was a problem I think and decision making on some of our shots and some other little things. I think we can continue to get better so we are headed in the right direction. We're happy to be 4-0, happy to be on TV today where all the Louisville fans could watch us play and hopefully the people out there watching will come out for our next home against Kentucky here in Fredom Hall."
