
Women's Basketball Hosts Furman on Sunday

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville women's basketball will return to Freedom Hall this Sunday to battle Furman, after winning the Courtyard by Marriott Airpoirt Cardinal Classic this past weekend. The Cardinals are coming off a three game winning streak after they scored an average of 84.0 points per game, and held their opponents to an average of just 54.3 points.
Angel McCoughtry, who was named the tournament MVP, leads the Cards in scoring, averaging 19 points per game. She also leads the Cardinals on the boards with 9.3 rebounds per game. Senior Helen Johnson is second on the team in scoring with 16.3 points per game.
The Lady Paladins of Furman, defeated Francis Marion 57-33 in their season opener on Wednesday. Freshman Lee Stevens, led the Lady Paladins with 14 points, a team-high four steals, and added three assists. Furman had 13 second chance points with 31 of their 57 points coming from the bench.
The Cardinals will tip-off Sunday, November 19 at 1:00p.m. The game will be broadcast on WKRD 790AM and will also on the website. Fans can also watch the game on WHAS 11.
