
Covington Named a Kodak/WBCA All-America Finalist

Louisville, Ky. - University of Louisville sophomore Jazz Covington was named one of 48 finalists for the 2005 Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team for NCAA Division I. The 48 finalists were selected by the WBCA member coaches in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions. Covington is one of four Conference USA players named to the Region 4 team.
Covington leads the Cardinals in scoring and rebounding with 17.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. She also led the team in field goal percentage and ranked second in the conference, connecting on 56.7 percent. Covington became just the second women's basketball player and four player overall in Louisville history to score 1,000 career points as just a sophomore. She needs just seven rebounds to register 500 career rebounds as well.
The Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team for NCAA Division I will be announced at the Kodak/WBCA All-America press conference at the Westin Hotel on April 2, 2005 in Indianapolis, Ind.
