
Men's Tennis Falls to Oklahoma State 4-1

TULSA, Okla. - - The University of Louisville men's tennis team fell to No. 32 Oklahoma State 4-1 Saturday in Tulsa, Okla.
The Cowboys began the match by taking the doubles point as the team of Boris Kuharic and Felipe Diaz, No. 40 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association doubles rankings, defeated Louisville's Slavko Radman and Damar Johnson 8-5 at the No. 2 spot. OSU's Artsem Burmistrau and Tomas Bohunicky outlasted U of L's Mark Kennedy 9-8 (7-5) at the No. 3 seed to clinch the doubles point.
In singles, Oklahoma State's Mark Van Elden, No. 44 in the ITA singles rankings, defeated Louisville's Damar Johnson (No. 124) 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 at the top seed. Barmistrau topped U of L's Jeremy Clark 6-0, 7-6 at the four spot and the Cowboys' Diaz defeated Jhonny Berrido 7-5, 6-1 at No. 5.
Jakob Gustafsson picked up the Cardinals' only singles point, having won the first set 7-6 when OSU's Daniel Byrnes retired due to injury.
U of L (2-1), No. 39 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association team rankings, will face No. 60 Tulsa Sunday at 3:00 p.m. (EST)
