
U of L Women Finish Sixth at Commodore Classic

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Louisville women's cross country team earned a sixth-place finish at the Commodore Classic hosted by Vanderbilt University on Saturday morning.
The Cardinals finished with 179 points in the seven-team event. The host Commodores won the team title with 25 points, followed by Belmont with 35 and Lipscomb in third with 99 points.
U of L was led for the second straight week by junior Ashley Ruberg's 29th-place finish in the field of 84 runners after covering the 5-kilometer course in a time of 20 minutes, 36.69 seconds.
Senior Corryn McCrae was 39th with a time of 21:12.37, while junior Lauren Baldwin finished with a time of 21:54.96 and 55th-place. Sophomore Holly Geers was 69th for the Cards with a time of 22:45.63, while freshman Jesse Faulkenberg closed out the scoring with a time of 23:35.15 and a 74th-place finish.
Up next, the Cardinals will have a week off before returning to action on Saturday, Sept. 25 at the Greater Louisville Classic hosted by the Greater Louisville Sports Commission at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park.
