Louisville, Ky. - Robyn Stone, a 5-7 point guard from Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, Ind., has signed a national letter-of-intent to continue her basketball playing career at the University of Louisville.
Stone was ranked as the sixth best unsigned player by the All-Star Girls Report. She was also ranked as one of the top 100 seniors in the country by the All-Star Girls Report.
"We feel that Robyn is one of the top 10 point guards in the senior class," said head coach Tom Collen. "She is extremely athletic and has great shooting range. However her greater asset may be her passing ability. She has the potential to impact us the moment she steps on the floor."
Stone was a preseason first team Indiana All-State selection this season. She averaged 15.4 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.6 assists in her final high school season. She earned second team all-state honors by the Indiana High School Coaches Association.
Stone played in the prestigious Nike All-American camp in 2003, where she was considered one of the top 80 players in the country. She also played on the Indiana Junior All-Star team.
Stone joins a talented first recruiting class for head coach Tom Collen that includes Purdue transfer Missy Taylor, a 6-3 forward from Connersville, Ind., Patrika Barlow, a 5-6 guard from Barren County, Valeriya Musina, a 6-0 guard from Russia, and Yuliya Tokova, a 6-1 forward from the Ukraine.
