Louisville, Ky. - University of Louisville senior point guard Sara Nord has been invited to participate in the 2004 WNBA Pre-Draft Camp at the Madison Square Garden Training Center in Tarrytown, NY from April 7-8. Nord is one of 30 players comprised from more than 20 colleges and universities, that will showcase their skills during the two-day combine.
"I am excited and nervous at the same time," said Sara Nord. "It is a great opportunity for me to be seen one last time since I did not get the opportunity to play in the NCAA Tournament. One of my goals has always been to play in the WNBA and this camp could help me get one step closer to that goal."
Nord led the team in scoring with 17.3 points per game. She finished her career as the all-time assist leader with 844 career assists. She was a four time first team All-Conference USA selection. Nord was also named an Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American and a Kodak/WBCA Honorable Mention All-American.
All 13 WNBA teams will be scouting players in preparation for the 2004 WNBA Draft, which will be held beginning at noon ET on Saturday, April 17 at the NBA Entertainment studios in Secaucus, N.J.
