
Women's Basketball to Wrap Up Regular Season

Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's basketball team will wrap up the regular season at Cincinnati on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. The Cardinals enter the game with an overall record of 18-8 and a league record of 10-3. Louisville is tied for third place in the league standings with No. 20 DePaul.
Cincinnati enters the game with an overall record of 14-13 and a league record of 5-8. The Bearcats are currently in 10th place of the league standings. UC will be playing without leading scorer Debbie Merrill. Merrill, who averaged 15.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, was suspended from the team indefinitely. Senior Valerie King is the second leading scorer, averaging 14.8 points per game and leads the team from the three-point line at 40.1 percent.
Louisville enters the game with an eight game winning streak. The Cards are led in scoring by senior All-American Candidate Sara Nord. Nord leads the team with 17.8 points and 6.5 assist per game. Freshman Jazz Covington is the second leading scorer with 16.2 points and leads the team on the boards with 7.8 rebounds per game.
The Cardinals have already secured a first round bye in the Conference USA Tournament on March 4-7 in Fort Worth, Texas.
