Men Place 10th at Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's cross country team finished 10th overall at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic Saturday morning at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park.
The event, hosted by the Greater Louisville Sports Commission, serves as a prelude to the NAIA Nationals which will be held at the same location in late November.
Louisville finished with 330 points in the 32-team event. Wayne State placed three runners among the top seven to win the team title with 42 points. Wayne State's Nick Allen won the race with an 8K time of 25 minutes, 18.35 seconds.
Freshman Wes Seacat led the Cardinals with a season-best time of 26:10.36 to place 23rd. The New Albany, Ind., native has led the Cardinals in all three races this season.
Junior Curtis Persinger finished 50th with a time of 26:42.84, while redshirt freshman Chris Davis was 78th in 27:10.05. The remaining two Cardinal scorers were freshman Chris Danks (91st) and redshirt freshman Todd Metzger (156th).
The Cardinals return to action next Saturday when they host the Cardinal Classic. The event will be staged on the U of L Shelby Campus, with upwards of 20 teams scheduled to compete.
